How to Spend a Quick Day in Vancouver
Spending a quick, but perfect day in Vancouver based on our adventures
Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada will always have a very special place in our hearts because it's where we got married. We eloped there while Phil was doing an internship in Seattle.
Vancouver was a perfect place for a wedding but also perfect for a quick vacation. We loved our time there and will have to go back someday.

Where to Stay
Victorian Hotel
The hotel is located in downtown Vancouver and is an easy walk to plenty of cool places. There is parking in the back and a cool balcony. The rooms are adorable and have a cool feel to them.
The only catch is not all of the rooms have their own bathrooms. Some have joined bathrooms and some have private bathrooms located across the hall.
They also serve breakfast in the morning in a little room downstairs. It is not a very fancy breakfast but the combination of the breakfast, the room, and the location make this hotel worth a stay.
We selected this hotel for the night before our wedding. They were super great to us and had fresh flowers in our room. Kelsey used the flowers to make her wedding bouquet.
Where to Eat
Water Street Cafe
This is a great sit-down place downtown that doesn't break the bank. Water Street is pretty fancy so feel free to dress up. Our favorite part was the outdoor seating right on the street with great views for people-watching. There was also a little street clock that let off steam that you have a great view of.
They have great pasta dishes and some wonderful wine selections. There is also a brunch menu and a daily happy hour.
The location is within walking distance to the main drag of downtown Vancouver, right by the water and they serve great food so it's worth a trip just for this place!
What to Do
Queen Elizabeth Park
This park is beautiful and has so many gardens. Parking does cost money but is so worth it. You can also park down the street in the residential areas or take the train. The walk from the train station is less than a mile so on a good day it's a great way to see the city.
This beautiful park was the location of we got married. We eloped in the park and it gave us some amazing and beautiful pictures. We also did a run around the park to get all of the views.
This park is a little less popular than the more visited Queen Victoria park so for us it was worth it to be more "off the beaten path".
