Reasons Why We Love Traveling Together as a Couple

Why We Love Traveling Together

We love traveling together, going on new adventures, and sharing our journey. Traveling makes our relationship stronger and brings out the best in us.

With most things in life, there will be good days and bad but we are so thankful for our adventurous lifestyle as a travel couple. Every destination together brings us closer.

Life is an adventure best traveled togetherSince the day we met, we knew life would be an amazing adventure. What we didn't know is that we would both embrace the travel life and grow together along the way.

It's true what they say..."Life is an adventure best traveled together". So why do we love traveling together?

Traveling together has made everything better. Our adventures are better but more importantly, we, as a couple, are better.

Makes Our Relationship Stronger

Having a traveling lifestyle is great but remember, traveling is not all rainbows and sunshine. You will have stressful days and bad things will happen.

Experiencing these up and downs makes our relationship stronger. We have to learn together how to take the bad and overcome it.

Traveling together has made us a well-oiled machine. It sounds weird but it's true.

When a problem arises we both work together and will divide and conquer when needed. We have dealt with crazy flight rearranging or rental car problems efficiently and effectively.

Because travel together is better

Learn About Each Other

Turns out sitting in a car or on a plane next to someone for HOURS gives you lots of time to talk and learn something new.

On our first cross-country road trip we spent the 30-hour car ride talking about our childhood and past memories. We were able to share everything and anything.

We have also learned more subtle things about each other. Several long journeys taught us to notice more subtle clues about the other person's needs and wants.

Traveling together can give you the opportunity to learn more about yourself and your partner. It can be simple things on long trips or it can be something deeper on a short weekend getaway.

Why couples that travel together stay together

Opportunities to Grow Together

We will be the first to admit we are both VERY INPATIENT. It's definitely not our best quality!

Weirdly enough, traveling together has given us both the opportunity to work on this. We're not perfect but over time we notice each vacation helps us get slightly more patient.

Sometimes we will be in line for a rental car and realize we're not getting as impatient as we typically do. Of course, we also try to avoid lines with preferred accounts allowing easier pickup but still.

The best thing that can happen in a relationship is growing as a couple. Growing together on trips that force you to challenge yourself is one of the many benefits of traveling together.

Brings Us Closer

It's easy to stay in the honeymoon phase when you're always on your honeymoon. We're not actually on a honeymoon but you guys get what we're saying.

Even if we're stressed or have things going on around us, being able to take time and cuddle up on a vacation brings us closer. Our travels allow us to make our time together a priority.

When you travel, a lot of the distractions of daily life kind of fade away. Traveling together to a new place lets you focus on that place and the people in it, namely each other!

Happiness is going on a trip with someone you love

New Experiences

We like exploring new locations because it allows us to have new experiences together. It's always a good idea to get out of your comfort zone and try new things.

Even though we have a shared love of travel, we are very different people. While traveling we will often experience new things only because we know its important to the other person.

For instance, Kelsey is someone who would love to go out dancing at a bar while Phil would rather stay home. But when we travel, Kelsey has learned to embrace the quiet life in a new city while Phil has learned to enjoy life dancing...a little bit at least.
