Visiting The Tap in Yakima
Music blaring, endless beer pours, and delicious food trucks all added up to one heck of a Saturday night visiting The Tap in Yakima Washington. We even semi-dressed up and looked all grown up.
The Tap threw a block party in Downtown Yakima, closing down the street in front of their brewery and filling it up with food trucks. Phil caught wind of the event on the City of Yakima website and knew Kelsey would be ecstatic.
What's not to love about draft beers, tacos, and a DJ. It's date night perfection.
We purposefully went during the block party but even without all the bells and whistles of the event, The Tap still seems like the place to be for a Saturday night. Or any night for the matter.

What is The Tap
Located in Downtown Yakima, Washington is a self-pour tap room called The Tap. Picture an entire wall with draft beers, ciders, and even wines to choose from.
You get a little bracelet you scan at the tap you want to pour and go to town. Okay maybe not go crazy but you get the idea.
If you only want a taste then you can just pour an ounce or two and move on to your next selection. Or fill up your cup with your top choice.
The entire setup is legit. The selections are stacked and it gives you a lot of free reign for getting your own drinks.
Kelsey began with Honey Kölsch, moved on next to Guava Cart, which was a wheat beer, and ended the night with a few ounces of Huckleberry Pucker Shandy. All of which were delicious and the choices slowly increased in the order of sweetness.
Street Block Party
Since we went during the block party we got to experience The Tap but with a little extra va va voom. We still got to enjoy the Tap and a whole lot more.
On the closed-down street in front, there was BBQ, shaved ice, agua frescas, and taco trucks equipped with churros. The Tap also serves food but we would have been crazy to miss out on a chance to try the food trucks.
We elected to try out the Chronic Taco Truck and it was amazing. Kelsey had the fish tacos whereas Phil went with pork both of which were quite possibly some of the best tacos we've ever had.
The Tacos aside, the basket of churros may have been our favorite part. Maybe the best damn churros in the world.
We took our food and ate inside the Tap which had a DJ for the night who would make any Millenial heart happy. We went from Shaggy's "It wasn't me" to Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild and Free".
There was also great Spanish music sprinkled in including Bad Bunny and of course Mr. World Wide (AKA Pitbull). Basically, we had great dancing music the whole night.
A Night to Remember
By the end of the night, we had full bellies, a few cute pictures, and a perfect Saturday night for the books. We're going to go ahead and name The Tap one of our favorite downtown Yakima restaurants.
Even without the DJ and food trucks, the whole concept of the tap room is fun and entertaining. They also had one of the sweetest workers of all time who gave us a play-by-play of things worked and checked in to ensure we had a nice time as we headed out.
