Visiting the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz
The Mystery Spot is a tourist attraction in Santa Cruz, California that mixes the eccentric atmosphere with cool optical illusions. They never truly give exact reasoning for all of the "weird phenomenon" happening at the mystery but you get a hands-on ability to learn and explore all of the "unexplainable occurrences".
We don't want to give away too much but the main attraction is a bizarre house where laws of gravity appeared to be absent. If you are visiting Santa Cruz then make the drive slightly outside the main city to stop by the Mystery Spot.

Why You Need to Go
Great Santa Cruz Vibes
What better way to enjoy the eccentric vibes of Santa Cruz than going to a possible "vortex" where down seems like up and up seems like down. You are surrounded by beautiful trees while exploring and experiencing weird attractions.
Only Eight Dollars
As far as tourist attractions go eight dollars for admission is a steal. The tour lasts about 40 min so you more than get your money's worth.
For such a cheap ticket you get an experience that you will probably not get anywhere else. The ticket also you gets you a free Mystery Spot Sticker.
Perfect Insta Worthy Photo ops
One of the best parts of traveling is getting fun pictures to look back on. The Mystery Spot has no shortage of not only great photo locations but unique pictures unlike anywhere else.
There are no limits on how many pictures you can take and the tour guides do a great job of giving you time just for setting up the perfect picture. The tour guide is also very friendly and willing to take a picture so you don't have to have just selfies everywhere.
Perfect for Groups or Solo Travel
Each tour seems to have about 13 people in it, so if you need room for a big group or you want to go solo, you're good to go. The tour guides get everyone involved so no matter what the whole group will vibe together by the end.
Tips
Book Online
It's way easier to book online and pick a time that works best for you. You can go in person but then there's a chance you'll have to wait depending on when spaces are available.
Especially if you have a big group it will be easier to get a time that works best for everyone. The later times seem to be the busiest so it may be best to schedule earlier to avoids crowds.
Save Time For the Hike
Not only is the Mystery Spot cool but the land it is on is beautiful. It's located surrounded by a forest with huge trees.
There is a hiking path on location so make sure to save enough time to do the tour and go for the light hike.
Drive One Car
Parking is five dollars per car so if you are planning on going with a group it's best to take as little cars as possible. This saves you money and also helps the environment as well. Plus even though the parking lot is huge it can fill up quickly as this is a pretty big tourist attraction.
Come Hungry
There is a little cafe on site that even has vegan options! It's a little pricey for hot dogs and hamburgers but it adds to the experience getting to eat while enjoying the view. There is seating available and even a gift shop for more snack type foods.
We loved visiting the Mystery Spot and even though it may seem like a silly carnival attraction it's fun no matter your age. It's a must-see for visiting Santa Cruz.
