Support Africa Through Linc Worldwide
We have always loved the idea of community outreach while traveling. Since we can't travel right now we found a great way to support Africa through Linc Worldwide without even leaving the house.
Traveling to Africa is something we have not been able to do yet. We have traveled to many different countries and continents and Africa is next on the list.

Until traveling is back in the cards we've been trying to find other ways to tackle our wanderlust. We figured if we can't travel to Africa right now, we can at least try to make an impact.
Phil recently teamed up with a non-profit organization called Love in Neglected Communities (LINC for short). We love being able to support Africa communities through Linc Worldwide and think it's a great idea for other travel lovers out there.

What is Linc Worldwide?
LINC is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving neglected communities with support so that they can grow and thrive. They do it through a variety of ways including education, clean water initiatives, and trying to improve access to food, health, and safety.
LINC was started by our friend Erin Clark who was volunteering in Kenya with her cousin Amanda. She saw a need for massive amounts of love that was just waiting to be tapped into.
Today they are working towards building a school in Kenya that will support their mission statement. The idea is a "school that will change everything".
Why Do We Support LINC?
We often try to support charitable causes but it can be difficult with so many to choose from. For us, we came to support LINC because we knew Erin personally.
Once we came to learn about LINC's mission and their goals, we thought it was a great idea and it was something we fully supported.
Serving underserved communities is something that doesn't gather a lot of attention but makes a huge difference for a lot of people. It also hit home with our love for travel as these are travel destinations often neglected.
We understand on a small scale what LINC is working towards and we love supporting it.
What Does LINC Do?
As we discussed above, LINC has a variety of different goals to improve the lives of the communities they work for. They have one main project currently and it is a big project: Building a school in Awasi, Kenya.
Over 2.6 million children are orphaned in Kenya. Only 11% of Kenyan children go to school with limited supplies and limited teachers.
So the big goal LINC is striving for is the Awasi School. The idea of the school is to improve the lives of the Awasi community through education, clean water, food, health, and safety.
All of which is done through charitable donations. Linc Worldwide currently hosts various events and collect donations online and in-person to help with the completion of the school.
What Do We Get Out Of This?
Traveling is a main part of our lives and we often wonder about the impact it has. Wouldn't it be nice to give back while also enjoying our love for adventure?
The idea of helping other communities adds more purpose to our traveling lifestyle. We get to make a global impact.
We might never end up going to Kenya but working with Linc gives us more opportunities to help. It's a way to "travel to Africa" through the idea of giving and helping.
Even without being in Kenya, working with Linc helps us feel like we are virtually traveling to Africa. Helping these kids and that community through our time and our money is exactly what we like to do when traveling.
What Can You Do To Help?
You can help in any number of ways! First and foremost, you can donate to LINC on their website.
You also can get involved in LINC which is what Phil did a few years ago. There are lots of opportunities to help out with Linc including reaching out to donors, helping with social media, working on marketing, etc.
Linc also has an ambassador program to get the word out. If you don't have the time to commit to being a full-time volunteer, you can post status updates on Facebook or reach out to your friends and family to ask for donations as an official LINC Ambassador.
Finally, you can volunteer for the Kenya trip. The trips happen every year at least once and while we can't personally vouch for how amazing they are, there is a reason Erin keeps going back every year!
Getting involved with Linc Worldwide is a great way to be a "globetrotter" from home. Instead of being stuck at home not being able to travel, try making a global impact through Linc Worldwide.
