Why Starting a Blog Was Worth It
The our blog is kinda like our baby. It takes a lot of time and energy but in the end, we love that we started this blogging adventure.
This blog has had ups and downs since day one. Even with the good days and bad we still think starting a blog was worth it.
We decided to start a blog back in 2015 but our final product wasn't created until 2017. Even our 2017 version looked completely different than it does now.
Since we both still work full-time as traveling therapists we can't commit all of our energy to the site just yet. The goal is to keep going until this is a full-time endeavor.
This has been a crazy adventure with a lot of learning. Even during the hard times starting this blog was worth it.

Why We Started a Blog
So what started this whole journey in the first place? Why did we even start a blog?
This is kind of a loaded question. The simple reason why we started a blog is that we wanted to.
But as with any major life decision, there is more to it. If we had to boil it down to two main reasons it would be
- To Share Our Memories
- To Inform Others
When we say we vacation...we mean it! We're talking a vacation every other weekend.
All of our vacations add up to a lot of memories. We not only wanted memories for us to look back on but to share with others.
Since we typically live miles away from friends and family, we wanted an easy way to share memories with them. This way they could feel like they were part of our lives even from far away.
Sharing memories is the main reason we also added in a vlog to our site. This way everyone can see our adventures while we have memories to look back at.
We love having all of our memories in one place. Having a blog that allows us to share our adventures makes every vacation feel more special.
Inform
We live a unique life being nomads with our cats relocating often and going on vacations even more. As with most Millenials, we go the internet for advice and found a gap.
It would take us hours to search through the internet before we found the advice we were looking for. We would have to read through several articles and put together information bit by bit.
As we kept learning more and more throughout our journey we decided we could help others like ourselves. We could take all the information we found and tested to work and put it together.
Our goal is for others to find our posts and think "finally, this is what I was looking for". We want others to learn from our mistakes and be more prepared.
What We Get From Blogging
By having this site we are able to keep all our memories together while also helping others. We get to enjoy our crazy life and share what we learned along the way.
Our blog is a great way to stay connected with friends and family even when living across the country. We love sitting down and writing every day, even if it's only when our busy schedule allows.
We also stay more consistent with our progress. Writing and researching blog posts give us weekly motivation and ideas for embracing a life of simplicity.
Why Starting a Blog Worked for Us
Even with all this work, we love having our site. It's a lot of time and energy but we're so proud of the final product.
We put any extra time we have into blogging. Even if we're driving 10 minutes to work, Kelsey is sitting on the passenger side working on Pinterest.
All of this extra time never seems like a waste. It's putting our spare time towards something that means a lot to us and brings value to our lives.
The main, less emotional reason why starting a blog worked for us is that Kelsey has something to do while Phil watches sports all day. It sounds silly but it's true since Phil is notorious for watching a lot of sports.
The blog helped bridge a gap between our hobbies and keeps our busy minds active when we have lazy days at home.
Having a blog is a lot of work but the payoff is worth it. We love sitting down and writing, even if it's only when our busy schedule allows.
If you are on the fence about starting a blog hopefully our journey can give you the final push you needed. Starting a blog was worth it for us and will be for you too!
