When we travel we like to explore the city but still have some downtime for relaxing. We have 6 iconic Seattle photo spots that let us experience the destination without packing our day too full.

Every time we go we get some of the best Instagram photos and always get comments about how "cool" our trip looks. In reality, we spent most of our time in the hotel enjoying our free time.

It's easy to show off your wanderlust with little effort thanks to Seattle's most photo-worthy opportunities. Even if you don't show off your vacation, you will have fun memories to keep.

Pike Place Market

Have you ever heard a story about someone being in Seattle to visit the market where they toss the fish? Well, that place is Pike Place Market. We like to call it Pikes and it's one of the more famous locations in Seattle.

Pikes is one of the larger markets we have ever seen being both indoor and outdoor with plenty of unique vendors. All of this room makes for several cool photo opportunities.

The best photo spot is at the front near the main sign. This way you can brag about the location and can get the waterfront in the background.

Gum Wall

The gum wall is located in an alley right by Pike Place Market. The wall is made up of everyone's used gum placed on the wall.

Gross idea but it makes for a legit picture. The different colors of the gum and the weird idea is a cool backdrop for any pose.

We found Kelsey's name on the wall (no it wasn't us who put it there) so obviously, we had to take a photo right next to it.

Space Needle

The space needle is one of those Seattle staples that tourists love. We never go up in the space needle since it costs money but taking a picture from the outside is free.

You can see the space needle while walking around Seattle from several areas which adds to the backdrop choices. We have found getting yourself in the picture can be difficult but the space needle is cool enough to warrant a stand-alone photo.

Staypinnepple has a hotel right by the Space Needle so when staying here we ask for a view from our room. This means we can get a great photo of the space needle without even leaving the hotel.

Freemont Troll

We have been visiting Seattle for YEARS and only recently discovered this hidden gem. Located under the Fremont bridge is a statue of a giant troll.

You can climb on the troll allowing you to get a more unique picture of you and the monstrous size troll.  We stood on the troll but a lot of people seem to go for the sitting pose instead.

When we went there was a short line to wait and get a picture on top of the troll. The line helps as the person behind you is typically more than willing to take your photo.

Original Starbucks

What could be more basic than a Starbucks coffee cup drink at the original Starbucks? If you love coffee and Starbucks this makes for a cute Instagram picture and a buzz-worthy caption to go with it.

Since this Starbucks location located right outside Pike Place Market is the FIRST location, it can get very busy with tourists. Try going early to have a shorter wait for your coffee and a less crowded picture.

Seattle Great Wheel

We have never ridden this giant Ferris wheel on the dock of Seattle but it does make for a cool picture. The location on the dock can also give you a water backdrop.

The coolest part is the size and standing next to it seems crazy.  It towers over you and is an iconic part of Seattle.

If you do want to pay the money it would probably make for an epic selfie. You could also get a great Seattle view.
