The Perfect Pacific Northwest Getaway
There is nothing we love more than a Pacific Northwest Getaway. The PNW is hands down our favorite USA travel destination.
We love this area so much we visit every year and then decided to make it our permanent home by moving to Portland in early 2020. Even now that we live here, we still can't get over just how beautiful it is.
The Pacific Northwest is the ultimate destination for any nature lover. You are surrounded by green wherever you go.
When it rains you have the perfect excuse to cuddle up inside with a nice warm drink and when it's sunny you get perfect weather for exploring. It's a win-win.
Since we love the PNW we decided to make an itinerary for the perfect Pacific Northwest getaway. This way you can plan the ultimate vacation without missing the best stops.
We suggest going big and doing one massive PNW road trip with about two days in each location but even if you just pick one of these destinations you will not be disappointed. It's the best of the best in the Pacific Northwest.

Treehouse Point
Top on our list of cannot miss while visiting the PNW is Treehouse Point, a treehouse hotel 45 minutes outside Seattle. This even makes our top list of USA bucket list destinations.
Who doesn't want to stay in a treehouse? It's such a cool and unique hotel that's made even better by the PNW surroundings.
Think of it as glamping but with more luxury and more nature. Then add in the personal touch of a B&B and that's Treehouse Point.
Treehouse point is set up almost like a little treehouse village with each one being unique. We love that each treehouse has a different feel but still gives the perfect nature lover's paradise experience.
We suggest starting your trip here because you might as well go all out first thing. Being in the trees is a great way to experience the Pacific Northwest up close and personal.
Downtown Seattle
We love downtown Seattle. It's grey but it's beautiful and a popular stop for a Pacific Northwest Getaway.
When we visit Seattle we make sure to stay in a high-rise hotel so we get plenty of city views during our trip. This way you get a taste of the city without even leaving your room.
Seattle is such a fun city to explore and it never gets old no matter how many times you visit. There are so many perfect photo spots in Seattle perfect for your travel diary.
You could grab yourself a cup of coffee and walk around while taking it all in. That's what we do and it never gets repetitive as there is always something new to find.
We like going to Seattle after Treehouse Point because it's an easy drive and it's a good way to go full luxury mode. The Treehouses are amazing but in the city, you can get food delivered right to your hotel door.
Olympic National Park
If you didn't get enough of the rain already, don't worry because the Olympic National Park has plenty of rain to go around. We love visiting this area because there are so many gigantic trees but the beach is just a quick drive away.
For our first trip here we camped but it was pretty chilly and very wet. If this doesn't seem like your style there are also plenty of rentals in Port Angeles.
We suggest doing a hike in the Hoh rainforest then heading to the West Coast to check out the ocean. If you have spare time on your trip you can also stop by Forks, Washington.
Forks is famous because of the Twilight series and the 13-year-old version of Kelsey had a field day. The whole town seems to embrace their newfound fame from a teenage romance novel.
Mt. Rainier National Park
If you are in Washington, Mt. Rainier should be at the top of your list. It's a little under two hours from Seattle and the views are unlike anything else.
When we're in the PNW we love all the green but Mt. Rainier also has plenty of snow which makes it stunning all the time. Even if you're not big on hiking you can drive into the park and still see beautiful viewpoints of the mountain.
You can camp in the park but we suggest finding a rental nearby. Since Mt. Rainier National Park has a decent elevation it can get cold, windy, rainy, and snowy...all at the same time.
After a day of exploring in the cold, you'll want a nice warm shower and a place to unwind. If the rental has a fireplace that's even better!
Portland
We might be biased since we live here but we think Portland is a must-see PNW destination. The city of bridges is beautiful and a perfect way to end your Pacific Northwest getaway.
Portland has the green, the rain, and more importantly a decent amount of sunshine. That's one of the reasons why we love it so much.
It's kind of like the hipster capital of the PNW. We like that it still has a city vibe but seems more open with less hustle and bustle.
You can walk along the river, stop at some food trucks, and then go on a hike all without leaving the city.
Enjoy Your PNW Road Trip
If you are from out of town we suggest flying into Seattle, making a two-day pit stop in each location then flying out of Portland. You don't have to go in our order but we highly suggest it for a perfect mix of experiences.
If you haven't already, add this PNW road trip to your bucket list. In just a little over a week, you get the perfect Pacific Northwest experience hassle-free.
