Ohio Travel: Top Places to Visit

Green trees and grass in Ohio

Since we are travel bloggers both born and raised in Ohio, it only seemed fair we would write a blog post about Ohio Travel. It's more than just farm lands which is what the rest of the country seems to think.

From the vibrant city life of Cincinnati and Cleveland to the natural beauty of Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio has some fun, hidden gems.

Cincinnati

When it comes to food, Cincinnati offers a wide range of culinary delights that will satisfy any palate. Kelsey is more or less from Cincinnati and she loves getting the food when we're in town.

One must-try dish is the Cincinnati-style chili, which is served over spaghetti and topped with cheese. It may sound unconventional, but once you try it, you'll understand why it's so beloved by locals.

In addition to its food scene, Cincinnati also boasts a rich sports culture. The city is home to several professional sports teams, including the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and the Cincinnati Bengals football team.

If you're a sports fan, catching a game at one of these venues is an experience not to be missed. The stadiums are in a great location downtown right by the river so it is a great venue to experience a game and enjoy a beautiful view by the Ohio River.

The city is also known for its impressive arts scene. With numerous theaters, museums, and galleries scattered throughout the city, there's always something new and exciting happening in the world of art. Whether you're interested in classical music or contemporary art exhibits, Cincinnati has something for everyone.

Cleveland

Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must-see attraction for music lovers. As you step into this iconic museum, you'll be surrounded by the vibrant energy of rock and roll history.

  • Explore the exhibits: Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of legendary musicians as their memorabilia comes to life. From Elvis Presley's sequined jumpsuit to Jimi Hendrix's electric guitars, each artifact tells a story that shaped the music we know today.
Get lost in the interactive displays where you can try your hand at playing instruments or mixing tracks like a DJ. Feel like a part of the band as you experience the thrill of being on stage.
  • Indulge in local cuisine:
After immersing yourself in rock and roll history, satisfy your hunger with Cleveland's delicious local cuisine. Sink your teeth into a mouthwatering corned beef sandwich piled high with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese from one of the city's famous delis.
Don't miss out on trying pierogies, a beloved Eastern European dish filled with deliciously seasoned potatoes or cheese. Pair it with locally brewed craft beer for a truly authentic culinary experience.

Another Ohio theme that sticks with Cleveland is professional sports teams to enjoy a night out at. In Cleveland, you can go to a Cleveland Browns (football) game or see the Guardians (Baseball) or Cavs (Basketball) all within walking distance from one another. The Browns Stadium is again right by the waterfront while the Cavs and Guardians play right next door to each other and are close to the entertainment district where you can enjoy a night out following the games.
