Kountry Resort Campground
Kountry Resort Campground is a small campground in Southeastern Ohio which we stayed at for one month at the beginning of 2017 when we were just getting used to living in our tiny trailer home. This was a perfect jumping-off point for us as the owners were incredibly nice.
Since we were new to the trailer the owners backed up and parked our trailer for us! Plus, the amenities were great and the price was excellent.

Overall: 4/5
Location: 3/5
Even though this is in a small town in Ohio, it's not too bad of a location. It is right on the border of WV and OH and is about 30 minutes away from Gallipolis, OH. The location of the park is easy to get into although it does have a decent size hill. We were there in the winter and were able to get up and down even with rain and snow on the ground. The park itself is set back on some property with lots of trees, grass, a lake and hills which makes for a nice setting.
This is more of a campground than a developed RV park but that was more of what we were looking for!
Amenities: 4/5
Even though this isn’t an overly developed park, it does have some nice amenities. They have a hosting space if you are having a party or gathering, a lake for fishing, areas to run around in and take the dog for a walk. They also have a main building with satellite TV (Phil was most excited about that), a pool table and even some arcade games including Golden Tee!
The bathrooms and showers are open 24/7 but are a little bit of a walk from your trailer no matter where you are parked. The only negative is the showers are controlled by a button. You have to keep pressing down the button every few minutes which can get annoying.
There is wifi available for a cost that you can pay for online or through the portal that pops up when you connect to it. With Verizon, we were able to hotspot our phones using data for all our wireless needs.
They also have a general store but only for a few basic needs. Overall, the amenities are nice and help out the rating overall but they probably need a little updating, especially when it comes to the showers.
Price: 4/5
As with any park, the real value is the monthly rate. Their daily rate is $39 for an RV spot (you can also rent a tent spot for $20 or a variety of cabins) but their monthly rate is only $500. This is a little steep for this area hence why they lost a point on the rating but overall it's a good price and a cheap way to spend a month.
They also have seasonal and annual pricing but you have to call for those. If you are going to stay for a while those might be worth looking into, otherwise, you could stay on a monthly rate for only $500 and save a bunch of money in the meantime!
Spaces: 5/5
The spaces in this park are really nice. They are concrete pads with sewer, electric and water available nearby. They also are surrounded by nature, whether it is grass, trees or a lake. Or all three! The spaces have a decent amount of space between you and the next trailer. Plus you have trees and a patch of grass between the spots for more privacy.
Overall: 4/5
Overall this was one of our favorite parks. It had good amenities, a decent location, and good pricing for a monthly spot. Best of all, you feel like you are in nature instead of in an RV park. If you are in the area, traveling to or from Ohio from the east coast, make sure you take a detour to check out this park and enjoy a little time in nature.
