The Travel Influencer: Kelsey
Hello, everyone, I'm Kelsey! I'm a lover of nature, travel, animals, and fashion...not in that order. I consider myself an amateur blogger and model with a strong emphasis on the word amateur.
Traveling is my passion but of course, I love the opportunity for a photoshoot abroad. This way I can share my adventures and my travel OOTD.
I like to describe myself as a traveler first, environmentalist second, and a full-time fair trade fashionista. Traveling around the world allows me to show off my minimalist chic attire while living life to the fullest.
Most people consider me the outgoing one of the Schaub duo. Without me, we would never meet new people, make new friends, or get out of our comfort zone.
I love our site and the opportunity to be an adventure documenter. I hope you all love Mindful Nomadics as much as I do!

Wanderlust
I wasn't always a "traveler". I never hated vacations but it was never a big part of my life early on.
As I got older and started going on more trips, it just came to me how much I love traveling. Every adventure I went out fueled my desire for more.
My older brothers both relocated often for work and flying down to visit them in their new city was always the perfect summer vacation. I found their line of work so cool and loved exploring different places every time I came to visit.
My dad travels for his job and spends more time on a plane than he does in a car. I will always remember the time he flew my brothers and me to Miami, Florida, first-class, to watch his football team play (go Bearcats).
Maybe with traveling already running in my family, it was meant to be. Once I got to grad school I knew traveling would be a major part of my life.
Luckily for me, I found someone (Phil) down for anything who already enjoyed traveling. We became a travel match made in heaven and the adventures continue.
Travel Therapy
I had wanted to do travel physical therapy pretty early on and Phil was easy to convince. Travel therapy seemed like the perfect fit for us.
I first heard about travel PT one summer when visiting my brother during his current New Mexico job assignment. I met his roommate's girlfriend, a traveling physical therapist, who told me the ins and out of her profession.
During grad school, I tried to keep an open mind about my job once I graduated by traveling therapy always came out as the best option. How could I turn down the chance to travel while making more money?
Phil and I researched and talked to several companies. By the time graduation arrived we knew travel therapy was right for us.
After graduation, we began our traveling therapy adventure and never looked back. So far Santa Fe has been my favorite travel assignment and favorite city to visit.
Perfect Vacation
There are two types of vacation that are my favorite
- Relaxing beach bungalow
- In the heart of a busy city
Beach getaways are always nice since you get amazing views while soaking up the sun. But there is just something about getting dressed in a minimalist chic outfit and walking the streets of downtown trying new vegan restaurants.
No matter what the vacation I love luxury and will always opt for a more lavish experience.
Lifestyle
Traveling is a main part of my life but as with anyone, I have other hobbies and passions. I am lucky enough to mix my other passions into my travel adventures.
Travel Fashionista
I would describe my current style as "minimalist chic". Everything I own goes together and fulfills my travel lifestyle perfectly.
A cool part about always moving around for our job is being able to check out new thrift stores. I like buying second hand to help the environment while still discovering cute finds.
My wardrobe has switched to being all black and I often get asked why. Since I have a very small, minimalist wardrobe, wearing all black makes it easy to always match and look put together.
Having an all-black capsule wardrobe helps me pack light for our adventures. I can pack for weeks at a time with only 2 carry-on sized bags making traveling the world even easier.
Perfect Day
My perfect day would have to involve Phil, the boys, running, exploring, and a photoshoot. Plus some time working on our site.
A perfect month would be filled with vacations, blogging, and plenty of insta photo opportunities. Then toss in some exercises and it would be a dream.
All I really want is
- My family
- Vacations
- Yoga
Side Hustle
Since I love posing and taking pictures I wanted to give modeling a try. I worked with Heyman Talent while in the midwest but our current nomad lifestyle has kept me on the road.
Since I'm already a travel blogger, I love the opportunity to take more pictures. Keeping a photo travel diary allows me to relieve our adventures even when we're stuck at home.
Modeling has lead us to take many more wild, impromptu trips and keeps us busy. I also worked as a brand ambassador on social media but shifted to just focusing on my own travel memories.
Hopefully, I gave lots of information but not too much information about myself. If I forgot anything or you have more questions feel free to message me on social media 🙂
