Staying at the Hyatt Regency Seattle

Hyatt Regency Seattle hotel room with a view of the skyline by a dinner table

Back in 2020, we were planning on staying at the newly built Hyatt Regency in Seattle during a trip with friends. Now if you know anything about 2020 you can probably guess this plan fell apart quickly.

Not only was our friend-trip postponed but the Hyatt needed a bit more time to open their doors. So the trip never happened and it was probably for the best.

So we decided to make a mini trip out of it and thought what better time to resurrect our plans to check out the Hyatt Regency. The trip (and the hotel) turned out even better than we imagined.

We guess some things are worth the wait. Since our first trip there, we have been back three more times and can officially say this is our favorite Seattle Hyatt.

If you find yourself in the Seattle area, give the Hyatt Regency a try. We promise you won't be disappointed!

Upscale Hotel

The moment you walk in, it's clear this hotel is pretty fancy. Since it just opened (we believe in very late 2020) everything is new and modernized.

The hotel itself is crazy tall with the floors going into the forties and very spacious, open rooms. There are so many windows you feel even more connected to the surrounding Seattle skyline.

Phil thinks the best part is the digital check-in and room key. It saves time and helps with decreasing contact while on the road.

We also love that every room has modern touches like usb plugs, great wifi in every room we have stayed in as well as Google Chromecast which nearly always works perfectly for us.

Location with a View

Lit Up Seattle at NightWhen we visit a city we want to be IN THE CITY. Not on the outskirts but right by the good stuff. Hyatt Regency Seattle is a 10-minute walk from Pike Place Market and the Space Needle (and everything else in between) which covers most of the famous tourist spots.

For us, though the best part about staying in the city is the view you get from your hotel room. And you know what they say...the higher up the better. Not sure if anyone actually says this but it sounds good.

We have found that every room has giant windows which is amazing! No matter which room you get, you are getting a stunning view of downtown Seattle, mountains and the Puget Sound.

Kelsey loves making herself a cup of coffee in the morning, sitting on the windowsill and watching the city wake up. You will also find her sitting on the windowsill reading in the evening as the city slowly lights up and becomes even more beautiful.

Lounge

wooden games with view of the Seattle CityThere is what we like to call a "VIP" lounge available to certain guests. Some Hyatt's offer what they call club access to people get an upgraded room when purchasing their room or to people who have status with the chain. However you get it, trust us it is worth it!

The snacks and drinks are cool but the rooftop deck is AMAZING. They also have fancy-looking games like wooden connect four and TV's you can watch anything you want which is especially helpful if you travel with a big group.

It is a great place to get some work done in a wide open space with a great view. Sometimes getting out of your room can be helpful to get creativity and productivity flowing and we have not found many better places to do that in the world.

Their current service is somewhat limited with some granola bars, nut snack packs, and some bottled drinks you can enjoy either in the lounge or in your room. When things open back up the club will be more full service with drinks, small snacking food, and they even sometimes host happy hours.

World Class Dining Options

Most hotels have restaurants these days so it might not seem very special but we loved Andare Kitchen and Bar, mostly because of their breakfast options. We have picked up food from them before but we think the best way to enjoy their now open breakfast buffet is dining in the restaurant.

They have a full continental breakfast with both hot and cold options, including local meats and cheeses. Our favorite item on the menu was definitely the breakfast pizzas but they also have more traditional breakfast options such as made to order omelettes and waffles, and breakfast meats.

Since we were originally there in 2021, they have now re-opened their other restaurant for breakfast which they just call, Market. The Market is actually now our go-to restaurant for breakfast because of the amount of options available.

Kelsey couldn't get enough of their avocado toast, oatmeal, chia seed pudding (really everything) and Phil loved every breakfast sandwich he tried but especially the spicy chicken biscuit. They also have grab-and-go options but the stuff they prepare in front of you does not take very long either so you really can't go wrong.

They also can make you coffee including americano, latte, cappuccino, etc. It is kind of like going to a coffee shop but it has way better food and it's in your hotel!

There are a few other options for dining later in the day including Andare for lunch or dinner or Daniel's Broiler. Both look like they have great menus and great food and if the breakfast options are any indication we have to imagine they are well worth it if you need meals later in the day.

Fitness Center

The fitness center might not make everyone's list of best hotel features but this one is well worth it. It has a ton of equipment including enough ellipticals, treadmills, peloton bikes for cardio for at least 15-20 people at a time. So you aren't likely to walk in and not be able to get going on a run or bike ride.

After your cardio session, they have weight lifting machines for every major body part for both legs and arms. They also have free weights including kettlebells, dumbbells and weighted bars with enough space to not run into anyone when you use any of the equipment.

Kelsey's favorite part of the fitness center by far is the view though. It's not often you get a fitness center with this kind of view as it sits on the same floor as the lounge and has great views of downtown Seattle to enjoy while you exercise.

Visiting the Hyatt Regency Seattle

This may sound weird, but the best thing about the Hyatt Regency Seattle is that it's a "sure thing for a good time". You know going here you'll get great customer service and a nice stay in an upscale hotel.

If you forgot something, they got your back and if you need help with something, they are ready to assist in any way possible. Just something to consider since it makes for an easier, stress-free trip.
