Christmas in a Temecula Tiny Home
While working in Palm Springs, California we only had a few days off for Christmas. We wanted to do something but couldn't go too big so we decided to rent a tiny home...get it?
We found a shed that was converted into a tiny home in Temecula on AirBnB and decided the cozy atmosphere would be perfect for Christmas.
Even though the shed may look tiny from the outside it has everything a home would need.
In this small tiny home, you get a kitchen, bathroom (with a shower), living room and bedroom. Of course, every bit of space was used to make this possible but everything went together perfectly.

The Tiny Home
The tiny home shed is located on the owner's property. He is a super talented handyman who converted the shed himself.
The shed is located in the backyard next to the chicken coup and is the playground for his adorable and friendly cats. We loved being able to relax in the yard while also getting some fun kitty playing time.
Inside the tiny home was the perfect couch set-up for binge-watching Christmas movies. The bed was lofted which we really liked because it didn't take away space and also added to the cozy feeling of the holiday season.
There was also a kitchen with a toaster oven and a full-size fridge. As for the bathroom, you got the shower and a non-plumbing toilet that's better for the environment.
We love checking out different tiny homes, especially since we currently live in one ourselves. It's nice seeing the different options and setups. The lofted bed was our favorite part but we also liked the uniqueness of it being a shed initially.
Making Christmas Cookies
Probably the biggest "adventure" we attempted was making Christmas cookies in the tiny home shed. We say adventure because it involved using a toaster oven and the limited items we had.
We found a recipe for Christmas cookies that could also work in a toaster oven. It was the perfect recipe because it had very few ingredients making our quick grocery shopping trip easier.
So we mixed the ingredients then had to use a wine bottle as a rolling pin and the lid of a mason jar as the cookie cutter. Obviously we had to get creative.
The first batch did not turn out great being a bit too gooey. After flattening out the dough more and only baking four cookies at a time, we finally perfected it and actually made some great sugar cookies.
For the icing, we used Kelsey's mom's go-to recipe of powder sugar, milk and vanilla extract. We bought two bottles of sprinkles, even though Kelsey wanted to buy about ten, and got to decorating.
It was the perfect Christmas mood with The Grinch playing on the tv while icing and decorating Christmas cookies.
Looking at Christmas Lights
The other Christmas activity we wanted to do was drinking hot chocolate while driving around and looking at Christmas lights. It seemed like an easy Christmas activity while also staying very low key. Phil secretly found some of the best Christmas lights in Temecula.
There was a house with lights linked to music, an entire block with coordinated lights and a cul-de-sac with the same theme. We listened to Christmas music while bopping around between locations and sipping our hot chocolate.
We loved our time in a Temecula tiny home as it was the perfect low-key Christmas celebration. The tiny home shed would be perfect for any getaway but it was even better for a cozy Christmas celebration.
