The Easiest Way to Make Castile Foaming Soap

The Easiest Way to Make Castile Foaming Soap

We have found the easiest way to make Castile foaming soap. When we say easy, we're talking can be made with only 2 ingredients in 2 minutes easy.

After using up a bottle of foaming hand soap we wanted a way to refill it. This way we could get more use out of the plastic bottle to reduce our waste.

Easy DIY Foaming Hand SoapSince we already owned Liquid Castile Soap we decided to give it a try. Turns out all we needed to do was dilute the Castile Soap with water and add it into our empty foaming soap dispenser.

Seriously though, that's it. The recipe for foaming soap is just Liquid Castile soap and water in a foaming soap dispenser.

If adding water isn't the easiest way to use castile soap in a foaming dispenser then we don't know what is.

Ingredients for DIY Castile Foaming Soap

Before you call us liars and point out that our easy foaming castile soap two-ingredient recipe suddenly evolved into a four-ingredient recipe, hear us out. We still stand by the facts that for us this began as an only two ingredient foaming hand soap recipe.

We already had the bottle and all we added in was water and Liquid Castile Soap. But then we realized a few things.

  1. We wanted a more zero waste option and found these super cute glass jars
  2. Who doesn't want to add some more Lavender into their life?

So yes, the FINAL Foaming Castile Soap Recipe that we use is four ingredients but the easiest version is only two.

Instructions

In a foaming soap dispenser add 1 part liquid Castile Soap to 3 parts water. Put on the cap, give it a little shake and you're good to go.

If you are up for one more step add 10-15 drops of essential oil. We like using Peppermint Castile Soap and drops of Lavender essential oil.

When filling the bottle, make sure to leave some space for the inside of the cap. Kelsey is known around here for overfilling everything and things got a little messy when we screwed on the cap to a filled bottle.

Instead of having overflow, try leaving an inch of space between the liquid and the top of the bottle. This also helps with mixing up the soap and water when shaking the bottle.

Uses for Foaming Soap

This recipe all began because of wanting to refill a bottle of hand soap but there is so much more potential here. Once we started using a Castile soap foaming hand soap recipe it occurred to us this can be used for our other needs.

After a few weeks of using Castile Soap in a foaming dispenser, we discovered it lasts longer than the non-foaming version. One small bottle of foaming Castile soap can last us months.

We love having one product that can be used for several purposes and we were already using Liquid  Castile Soap all around the house...but not a foaming version. Even though we would dilute it with water we were having to refill our bottle monthly.

Also, not sure if you noticed but if you follow our blog you might have detected some similarities to our ingredients here and ingredients for our DIY shampoo. Hint..it's the same except the foaming dispenser part.

Now we use this one recipe for

  1. Hand Soap
  2. Body Wash
  3. Face Wash
  4. Shampoo

We like having the glass dispensers around the house but also have travel sizes since we do love traveling. Plus the minimalist in us is so happy we have one bottle with four uses.
